Heartfelt Creations ~ Grateful Rustic Sunflowers

 Hi Friends,

Today Heartfelt Creations is debuting a beautiful new side release of gorgeous Filigree Frame & Border Collection. This collection contains 4 sets of dies which you can see by visiting the full collection page on their website HERE. It is a lovely collection with lots of opportunities to design in many versatile ways. Lets take a look at my first card using this collection...

Directions:

Cut a piece of white card stock to 6 1/2 x 7 1/2" and score the 6 1/2" side at 1". Cut a second piece of white cardstock to 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 and glue to the 1" scored section with the scored section to the inside creating a 5 1/2 x 7 1/2" card base. (Top Tip: HCPP1-475 Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper is perfect for all your card bases and white die cuts) Cut a piece from the top left hand corner of sheet 5A from HCDP1-2131 Rustic Sunflower Paper Collection to 5 1/2 x 7 1/2" to place on the inside of the card to cover up the seam created when making the card base. Now cut a piece from sheet 10B (Turquoise) measuring 5 1/2 x 7 1/2" and glue to the front of the card base. Next cut a piece from sheet 9B (green) measuring 5 1/4 x 7 1/4" and glue it to the card front. Using the largest die from HCD2-7424 Rectangle Filigree Frame Die cut the striped center decorative paper then set this aside until the following steps. Still using this same die cut 1x using white cardstock and 1x using HCGP1-488 Luxe Gold Cardstock. Glue these two pieces together slightly offsetting the gold beneath the white as shown in the photos. Do this same technique (cutting 1x with white cardstock and 1x with Luxe Gold Cardstock) with the next smallest die in this set, but this time use the inner cutting die so that the inside is cut out. Glue both of these gold/silver layers to the card base as shown making sure to add the previously cut patterned paper down inside the larger one before adding the smaller one. (see photos). From the HCD2-7426 Oval Filigree Frame Die cut the 4th smallest die 1x from white cardstock and 1x from Luxe Gold Cardstock and glue these together offsetting the gold behind the white as done in the previous steps. Stamp this die with a sentiment stamp from HCPC-3844 For My Friend Sentiments Cling Stamp Set in Archival Tiger Lily Ink. Attach this die to the center of the card using 3D foam tape.

Stamp the large Sunflower 2x, Medium 3x, and small 3x using the HCPC-3962 Rustic Sunflower Cling Stamp Set in Tiger Lily ink onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper . Stamp the small flowers 2x using the HCPC-3911 Wisteria Petals Cling Stamp Set with Archival Manganese Ink onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper. Then stamp the small leaves 4x and the large leave 2x using the HCPC-3980 Sweet Pea Cling Stamp Set using Archival Leaf Green Ink. Lastly stamp the HCPC-3933 Floral Shoppe Fillers Cling Stamp Set onto green cardstock using VersaColor white opaque ink, and then heat emboss with a white embossing powder. Die cut all the flowers out with the coordinating dies.

Color the sunflowers with Tiger Lily ink in the centers followed by Archival Sunflower Ink on the petals using the Stack and Store Daubers. Lastly add touches of Tiger Lily ink around the edges of the sunflower petals. Run the Sunflowers face down through the coordiating 3D Shaping Mold and then using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit simply press in the flower centers for a beautifully shaped Sunflower. For the largest flower glue together 2 large and 1 medium flower. The medium and small flowers both have 2 petals of the same size glued together, Apply Dries Clear glue with a hydra sponge and sprinkle on some Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter on the tips of the petals. Then once dry add a puddle of Dries Clear glue to the center of the flowers and sprinkle in Earth Elements to the centers of the sunflowers for a perfect rustic and natural finish. For the wisterias simply color with the stack and store daubers lightly with Manganese Blue ink and shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Poke a hole in the center and add 2 of the Bright Pearl Stamens - Small to the centers of each adhering with a glue gun. The leaves are colored with Archival Vivid Chartreuse and then the edges are colored with Leaf Green. Then are then run through the coordinating 3D Shaping Mold and ready to go. For the Floral Shop Fillers add dots of Dries Clear Glue and sprinkle on some Minnie Pearls Prills.

To complete the card simply arrange the flowers and foliage as desired adhering with a glue gun.

Heartfelt Creations ~ A Special Hug For You!

Welcome Back Friends,

For this week's Wednesday Inspiration I am sharing my second card featuring the Hollyhock Garden Collection by Heartfelt Creations. I have created a non traditional vellum flower here by shaping the flower by hand using the Grooved Golf Tools rather than the shaping mold. Lets take a look at my design...

Instructions:

Cut a piece of 6 x 12” cardstock from the HCPP1-475 Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper and score in half to create a 6 x 6” card base. Next cut a piece of 6” x 6” pink paper from sheet 12B of the HCDP1-2143 Hollyhock Garden Paper Collection and glue to the card front. From sheet 11A cut a piece of green and pink patterned paper to 5 3/4 x 5 3/4” and glue to the card front. Next using the largest die from the HCD1-7370 Simply Elegant Centerpiece Die, cut a piece of the same pink paper from sheet 12B, then using the large decorative die from that set cut 1x using white cardstock and 1x using HCGP1-493 Lux Silver Cardstock. Glue these together, slightly offsetting the silver behind the white, and glue to the pink background die. Glue the piece just created to the card front. Using the small two center dies from this same die set cut the background die from Sheet 11B (yellow), and then the center decorative die 1x from white card and 1x from Luxe Silver Cardstock layering them just like the larger medallion die. Attach this center medallion to the center of the card front with 3D foam tape, popping it up for added dimension.
Using the HCPC-3999 Hollyhock Petals and Leaves Cling Stamp Set, Stamp the large hollyhock flowers 4x and the medium hollyhock flowers 3x in Versacolor White Pigment Ink onto Rajni Chawla’s Vellum. Make sure to use an anti-static tool before stamping. Once stamped, sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat emboss. Also from this same stamp set stamp the leaves 4x in Leaf Green Archival ink onto white cardstock. Also using Leaf Green, stamp the large leafy stem 1x onto white cardstock using the HCPC-31000 Hollyhock Stems and Blooms Cling Stamp Set. Next Stamp the yellow flowers by stamping the calyx stamp from the HCPC-3980 Sweet Pea Cling Stamp Set in Chrome Yellow Archival ink. Lastly from the HCPC-3966 Autumn Wreath Accents Cling Stamp Set stamp the small leaf 4x in Olive Archival ink. Cut all stamped images with their coordinating dies.

Using HCDA2-450 Stack and Store Daubers color flowers and leaves in the following ways. For the Hollyhocks use a mixture of pink Distress Oxide inks onto the front sides of your images. Top Tip: Wipe any excess ink off the vellum with a damp cloth after the ink has had a chance to sit for a few minutes. This will allow for the white heat embossing to be more brilliant. Once colored hand shape with Grooved Golf tools and glue together 3 layers then add both HCS1-460 Bridal Bouquet Stamens and HCS1-459-1 Rock Candy Stamens to the centers with a glue gun. For added sparkle dab on some Dries Clear glue using a Hydra Sponge and sprinkle with Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitter. Next color the yellow flowers with Sunflower Archival ink and shape through the HCFB1-5010 3D Sweet Pea Shaping Mold before adding the HCS1-457-1 Pastel Pearl Small Stamens in the centers of each flower. For the Hollyhock leaves color with Vivid Chartreuse Archival inks and for the Autumn Wreath leaves color with both Olive and Leaf Green Archival Inks. Both styles of leaves can be shaped easily using the HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit stylus and shaping mat by giving a little extra dimension from the back.

From sheet 3A of the Hollyhock Garden Paper Collection choose a sentiment strip to add to the card front. Cut a flag out of one end and attach to the card as shown. To finish the card arrange the flowers in a circular design using the die as a guide. When adding the leaves rip off leaves as needed from the leafy stem for the larger flowers. Glue flowers and leaves with a glue gun. Add a coordinating center gem to finalize the project. Decorate inside of card as desired.

Heartfelt Creations NEW RELEASE Hollyhocks Garden Collection

 Hi Friends,

Welcome back to another AMAZING RELEASE DAY with Heartfelt Creations. This month we are releasing the beautiful Hollyhock Garden Collection. This beautiful collection consists of 3 stamp and die sets including the main flower with coordinating 3D Shaping Mold and do not forget the beautiful paper collection. It is full of vividly bright and colorful papers in reds, yellows, Pinks and greens. I personally choose a more muted page from the collection and choose more fall colors but do not miss out on all the opportunities this paper pad gives you. Now lets take a look at my first project from this collection...

Instructions: Using one of the HCCB1-495 5x7” Gateway Fold Cards trim off 1/3 of the card and sit aside for second step. Take the 2/3 part and die cut through both layers using the largest die from the HCD2-7327 Elegant Swirl Gateway Die set making sure to let the die hang over the folded edge just a little so the fold line is not cut. This will create a nicely shaped card. Using the same die, cut the piece that was cut off in the previous step and glue it to the front of the card base. Then cut 3x from sheet 9B (peach patterned paper) from the HCDP1-2143 Hollyhock Garden Paper Collection and glue these 3 to the front and insides of the card trimming as needed to fit the inside panels. Using HCPC-3843 Special Birthday Sentiments Cling Stamp Set, stamp the sentiment to the inside of the card as shown. Using the second and third largest dies from this same die set cut one each from the HCGP1-488 Luxe Gold Cardstock. Glue down the second largest die just cut (the beautiful swirly one) to the peach card front. Using the third largest die cut a scene for the center of the card front from sheet 1B of the Hollyhock Garden Paper Collection. Using HCPC-3844 For My Friend Sentiments Cling Stamp Set, stamp the sentiment to the front panel as shown. Using the Luxe Gold piece that was cut with the 3rd largest die and as it as a guide, trace around it onto a piece of peach paper from sheet 9B, then fussy cut out. Next glue the Luxe Gold piece and the scene onto the peach piece to create your center section for the card front. Add 3D foam tape to the back and attach to the front of the card. Using the third largest die from the HCD2-7340 Eyelet Frame Gateway Die, cut 2x in Luxe Gold Cardstock and attach to the two inside panels. Using the fourth largest die from the Eyelet Frame Gateway die set cut 2x from sheet 1B and attach to the two inside panels.

Stamp the Large Hollyhock flowers 2x and the medium Hollyhock flowers 2x in Carnation Red Archival Ink using the HCPC-3999 Hollyhock Petals & Leaves Cling Stamp Set. Stamp the Large Leafy Stem 2x in Leaf Green Archival Ink using the HCPC-31000 Hollyhock Stems and Blooms Cling Stamp Set. Stamp the Fence in Coffee Archival Ink onto watercolor card using the HCPC-31001 Hollyhock Fence Cling Stamp Set. Also using that set and paper stamp the 3 floral and vine images in Jet Black Archival Ink. Cut all stamped items with their coordinating dies.

To create the flowers use the HCDA1-449 Stack and Store Daubers and begin by inking the flower centers with Prickly Pear Archival ink. Then ink the middle of the bloom with Carnation Red ink followed by Red Geranium Archival ink darkening as the edge gets closer. For the very tips of the flowers deepen the color by adding Mulberry Archival Ink. Run the flowers through the HCFB1-5012 3D Hollyhock Shaping Mold then using the HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit press in the centers and pierce a hole in the center of each flower. Using HCS1-460 Bridal Bouquet Stamens, color the stamens using Prickly Pear Ink and add to the center of the flowers. Lastly add Crystal Clear Glitter with Dries Clear Adhesive and a Hydra Sponge. Shake off any excess. Color the leaves using Vivid Chartreuse Archival Ink and Leaf Green Ink. Shape with a stylus from the back to give a little dimension then add a little Ultrafine Transparent Glitter to the vining of the leaves by using the Metal Tip for Adhesive Bottles attached to the Dries Clear Glue. Dots of glue can also be added to the background papers and glitter can be sprinkled on for extra sparkle to the project. Color the Fence and other florals images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

To assemble the card simply cut off one fence post and attach to the fence post on the front of the card front with Adhesive Foam Strips. The rest of the fence will be attached in the same manner on the inside of the card. Add the Leafy Stems and flowers with a glue gun to the front of the card. Arrange the floral arrangements on the inside of the card to the fence.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I enjoyed creating it for each of you! Check out my personal project in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery to find out what products I used for this project.

Heartfelt Creations ~ Dragonfly Plaid

 Hi Friends,

Happy Inspiration Wednesday to all of you today. I have a fun filled floral card for al of you today featuring on of my favorite Heartfelt Creations Flowers. The Climbing Clematis. Is this a flower you have in your stash??? Lets take a look....

Instructions:

Take a piece of 10 x 7” white cardstock and score in half along the 10” side creating a 5 x 7” card base. Using the largest die from the HCD2-7399 Flourish Companion Frame Die set, cut through both layers of the card base making sure to slide the die just over the edge of the score line to preserve the fold of the card. Using the same die also cut 1x with white cardstock and 1x from sheet 11B (Plaid Pastel) from the HCDP1-2127 Floral Butterfly Paper Collection. Attach it to the white layer and then glue both layers to the card base. From sheet 8B (Dark Purple) from the Floral Butterfly Collection die cut the 4 rectangle dies from the Flourish Companion Frame set carefully taped to the paper so they remain centered and secured. These will die cut the two purple frames shown in the photo. Ink the edges of both frames with Majestic Violet Ink. Next take the second and fourth largest die and cut a piece of HCGP1-493 Luxe Silver Cardstock with each of them. Also cut white card stock from each of them. Glue the silver on top of the white to give the silver a little extra dimension. Using the 3rd largest die, cut a piece of light green patterned paper from sheet 7B. Stamp this piece with a sentiment from the HCPC-3843 Special Birthday Sentiment Cling Stamp Set in Majestic Violet ink. Now to assemble the card, use Dries Clear glue and attach the large purple frame to the card base followed by the larger silver die which will fit nestled into the purple frame just glued. The same steps will be done for the smaller frame gluing the purple frame and silver decorative piece onto the light green piece. Lastly Attach the green to the center of the card base using 3d foam tape.

Stamp the following items onto HCPP1-475 Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper unless otherwise noted. Stamp the large Clematis 2X and the medium Clematis 3X in Ranger Distress Oxide - Wilted Violet Ink using HCPC-3954 Clematis Cling Stamp Set. Heat emboss in clear embossing powder. Stamp the small Clematis 2X in Archival Leaf Green. Stamp all foliage in Archival Olive Green from HCPC-3835 Leafy Accents Cling Stamp Set 3X, HCPC-3931 Large Floral Urn Cling Stamp Set 4X, and HCPC-3933 Floral Shoppe Fillers Cling Stamp Set 3X. Lastly stamp the dragonfly from the HCPC-3983 Decorative Dragonfly Cling Stamp Set onto watercolor paper with Versacolor White Opaque Ink and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. Once everything is stamped, die cut everything with the coordinating dies.

To complete the Clematis flowers, color the purple flowers with the HCPP1-475 Stack and Store Daubers starting in the centers with Leaf Green and then Majestic Violet ink for the remainder of the flower. Color the Leaf Green stamped Clematis with Leaf Green Ink. Run all the Clematis flowers through the HCFB1-5006 3D Clematis Shaping Mold . For the purple flowers use the fluffy white HCS1-460 Bridal Bouquet Stamens and color the stamens with Archival Vivid Chartreuse Ink before adding them to the centers of the flowers. Add Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear glitter using Dries Clear Glue with a Hydra Sponge to finish off the focal flowers. To finish the filler flowers simply add Ribbit Prills to the centers using a glue gun. Now for the foliage, Color the Leafy accents very lightly with Leaf Green just to add a touch of color making sure to keep them light. Run the Leafy Accents leaves through the HCFB1-467 3D Leafy Accents Shaping Mold. For the darker leaves from the Large Floral Urn set color them using Leaf Green in the centers and ink around the edges in Olive. Shape using the HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit stylus from the back to give some dimension then using the small Grooved Golf Tool add a sharp crease from the back side and pinch the end to give the leaf a nice sharp point. Color the Floral Shoppe Fillers using the Yellow Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker then dab on small dots of Dries Clear Glue and sprinkle with Clementine Ultrafine Transparent Glitter. Shape a little from the back side to give extra dimension. Lastly color the dragonfly using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in Pale Green and Light Violet.

Now simply begin arranging the flowers on the card first by gluing the Leafy Accents to the left hand corner as shown with a glue gun. Then begin layering the Yellow Sprigs followed by the focal flowers. Add in the darker leaves, and lastly the filler flowers to finish the look. Add the dragonfly to the top right corner of the card. Completely the inside as desired.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I enjoyed creating it for each of you! Check out my personal project in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery to find out what products I used for this project.
